Shand welcomed the Year 10 students of Grimsby Academy for a visit and factory tour. The 20 students are in their penultimate year at the Academy and will be making the important post-school decisions next year. Already opting for a full day a week to complete a BTEC in Engineering, the teenagers already have a strong interest in both academic and practical engineering skills.
The students got to look round the heavy fabrication, welding and machining facilities for our large bore offshore business and appreciated seeing 'real life' engineering first hand. They finished off with a visit to the CNC shop and testing area for our CleanBREAK products where they saw the products working and being pressure tested.
It was good to meet the students and teachers, they are welcome back any time. Maybe we'll even be seeing a few of them at Shand in a few years!
To read more about the Academy and the great work they are doing for the area take a look at the website:
After the success of the CleanBREAK range, Shand have decided to launch a new website dedicated to our Spill Prevention products. Keep up to date with new products, download data sheets and get the latest CleanBREAK news! www.cleanbreak-couplings.com
