  • Brian Purchon

    Brian Purchon | Managing Director

    Graduated from the University of Aston in Brimingham in 1977 with a FIRST class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, other qualifications include a Diploma in Management Studies, (1984) and a Chartered Mechancial Engineer. Prior to joining Shand in 1996, Brian worked for several international publicly quoted companies including Corning, Reed International, and Simon Engineering in various roles including Project Management, Operational Analysis and General Management.

  • Andrew Heaton

    Andrew Heaton | Technical Director

    Graduated from Loughborough University in 1984 with an honours degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Managment. Other qualifications include membership of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer. Prior to joining Shand in 1997, Andy worked for BICC and Switchgear & Instrumentation in the UK in various roles including Production Engineering Manager, Production Manager, General Manager and Project & Development Manager.

  • David Robinson

    David Robinson | Commercial Director

    Graduated with an Honours degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Lancaster University in 1981 other qualifications include membership of CIMA, (The Chartered Insitute of Management Accountancy). Prior to joining Shand in 1987, David held various accountancy posts with Courtaulds at several UK sites. David joined Shand as Company Accountant and Company Secretary but in 1990 was apppointed Finance Director before becoming Commercial Director in 1994.  

  • Barrie Jarman

    Barrie Jarman | Applications Engineer

    Barrie joined SHAND in 2001 and brought with him a wealth of practical engineering experience. Barrie has C&G fabrication, CNC 1,2 and 3 and also CAD. Barrie started out as an apprentice fabricator in 1980 for a mining equipment manufacturer based in Sheffield before progressing into roles such as CNC Technician and Foreman. Barrie has over 30 years engineering experience.

  • Jim Hughes

    Jim Hughes | Sales Manager

    Jim has spent the last 15 years in the world of Sales and Marketing and his previous client list reads like the FTSE 100. He has been integral to the success of many National and International campaigns and is credited with bringing several new products and companies to the Global marketplace. Jim continually pushes the boundaries of excellent customer service and innovation and it is this ethos that has made Jim and Shand such a good fit.
